Checklist: Reprints

  • 201 Ashcan: An ashcan of issue #201, 6 by 4 inches, shows the artwork from issue #201 in various stages of completeness. Only goes up to page 10.
  • The Best Comics of The Decade, 1980 - 1990, Volume 1: Fantagraphics, June 1990, Reprints the back-up story from Swords #6 "A Night on The Town."
  • Bi-weeklies: reprints the single issues of Cerebus.
    • Cerebus Biweekly: Reprints Cerebus #1-25. Including: covers, ads, letters columns, everything! Also has "The Single Page" where creators could get a single page of story/art published in the back to promote their own work. Some of the more famous ones: #17 had Hepcats and #20 had Milk and Cheese.
    • Cerebus Biweekly Special: Has no number or any indication of the name of the comic. Only has Cerebus Biweekly November 24, 1989 on it. Reprints the 11 strips of "Silverspoon" and also "Magicking".
    • Cerebus: High Society: #1-25: Reprints Cerebus #25-50. Reprints the story, the front cover, Note From the Publisher, and Aardvark Comment. Has a new feature called "notebook" where Dave reprints various pages of his notebooks on Cerebus.
    • Cerebus: Church and State: Reprints Cerebus #51 (first time reprinted!), 52-80. Same format as Cerebus: High Society.
  • Cerebus #0: two editions, one regular and one with a 'gold' cover. Both have same interior content, they just have slightly different covers. It reprints the in-betweener issues: #51, 112/113, 137 and 138. Here is a look at the unpublish verison of the gold #0.
  • Cerebus Guide to Self-Publishing: 96 pages, B&W, Nov 1997. The only Cerebus material is the cover. This reprints several "Notes From The President" columns that dealt with self publishing.
  • Cerebus World Tour Book 1995: The second printing of this is called Cerebus Not The World Tour Book 1995. A one shot that reprints most of the back-up stories: "The Name of The Game is Diamondback," "The Morning After," "Whatever Happened Between Issues Twenty and Twenty-One," "Magicking," "Silverspoon," "A Night On The Town," "Cerebus Dreams," and a new story by both Chester Brown and Dave Sim (not Cerebus).
  • Collected Letters 2004: For the Collected Letters collection info see Other Dave Sim Items section of the checklist.
  • Flaming Carrot Comics: Man of Mystery! Collected Album #1: The book reprints the Flaming Carrot appearances in Anything Goes, Aardvark-Vanaheim in 3-D, and Cerebus 61-63. The forward to the collection was written by Dave Sim.
  • Free Cerebus: A freebie handed out thru retailers to attract more readers. Retells the story of Cerebus (#1 thru Jaka's Story) by use of panels taken from various issues and text. There is an online version if you'd like to see it. Here is a close up of the cover.
  • Following Cerebus #2: Dec 2004. Published by Win-Mill Productions along with Aardvark Vanaheim. Reprints a 6 page Cerebus story entitled "Passage" which happens between issue #3 and 4 which originally from Cerebus The Newsletter #2.
  • Guys Partypack: Reprints four issues of Guys: 201 to 204.
  • Phonebooks: A large trade paperback collection of the seperate issues of the comics into the distinct chapters of the larger work of Cerebus. These do not collect the issues in-between the chapters. These only collect the actual story of Cerebus (no covers, letter columns, etc.):

    2. High Society: Issues #26-50
    3. Church and State I: Issues #52-80
    4. Church and State II: Issues #81-111
    5. Jaka's Story: Issues #114-136
    6. Melmoth: Issues #139-150

  • Spirit Jam: p. 38 - 41, reprints the Cerebus / Spirit fight scene from Cerebus Jam #1
  • Swords of Cerebus
    • #1: Reprints Cerebus #1-4. Back-up story: "The Name of The Game is Diamondback." Here is the back cover to the first printing. The story has the rules of the card game. Layouts and roughs by Marshall Rogers, everything else by Sim. Set during Cerebus #11. Here is a look at the cover to the 2nd printing.
    • #2: Reprints Cerebus #5-8. Back-up story: "Demonhorn." A reprint of the Cerebus story from Nucleus #1. 
    • #3: Reprints Cerebus #9-12. Back-up story: "What Happened Between Issues Twenty and Twenty-One." An 8 page story with some art by Gene Day. Also included, "Magicking" a ten page story of Cerebus and how aardvarks are magic focii.
    • #4: Reprints Cerebus #13-16. Back-up story: "Silverspoon." A reprint of the strips that ran in The Buyer's Guide for Comic Fandom.
    • #5: Reprints Cerebus #17-20. Back-up story: "Cerebus Dreams." Done by Barry Windsor-Smith with no input by Sim, but with his full approval. The back and front covers are also by Smith.
    • #6: First print: Reprinted Cerebus #21-24. A supplement came out that reprinted #25. Other printings reprinted Cerebus #21-25. Back-up story: "A Night on The Town." A 7 page story by Sim and Gerhard of a drunk Cerebus having fun with his lifeless friend. Later reprinted. Here is the back cover for the first print and the supplement.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 3: First Comics, 1987. Reprints issues #8 of TMNT with a Cerebus cross-over.
