I don't have the text of the first letter I sent Dave that had a reply in Collected Letters (it was hand-written I believe) but I'll just give you a brief overview in case you're interested...
Basically I was attempting to take the piss because, on reading Tangent, I had a standard "Oh my God, he's got to be joking" reaction. I started off referring to a so called "celebrity" in the UK, David Icke, and his theory to do with giant green lizards running the world behind the scenes (see here http://www.publiceye.org/Icke/IckeBackgrounder.htm for details) and suggested that Dave's "Tangent" might have been funnier if he'd used something similar instead of feminists in his own crackpot conspiracy theory.
I actually called Tangent "Tangents" in my letter and that was how it was referred to in the original reply. Dave's repetition of my mistake has been corrected in the Collected Letters which makes me look less of a fool for not checking properly before I dashed off my letter.
By the time I received Dave's reply he had gone on to expound his theories further in the back of Cerebus and I realised how rude I had been. I wrote to him and apologised but either he didn't receive this letter or he didn't think it worth replying, probably the former as I had asked a question about Going Home in it and I think he would probably have replied if he had read it.
My second letter that's replied to in Collected Letters was written in Word somewhere. I'll try and drag it up and post the full text in the week.
